Welcome to Forge
Forge is one connected workspace for the everyday operations of a church or nonprofit, bringing your people, giving, events, care, messaging, and reporting together so your team isn't stitching tools and spreadsheets back together by hand.
What Forge is for
Most ministry tools handle one slice of the work. Your directory lives in one place, giving records in another, and care follow-ups in someone's notebook. Forge keeps those records in one system, so the people you serve, the gifts they give, and the needs they raise all connect to the same person record.
This article is an orientation. It explains how the pieces fit. The other getting-started articles walk through the actual setup steps.
Who uses Forge
Forge is built for the people who keep an organization running day to day.
- Administrators set up the organization, invite the team, and manage permissions.
- Pastoral and care staff track prayer requests, visits, and follow-ups.
- Finance staff record gifts, manage funds, and produce statements.
- Ministry leaders and volunteer coordinators plan services and schedule volunteers.
- Members use a self-service portal to update their own information, give, and submit requests.
Access is controlled by role, so people see the parts of Forge their work requires.
How the pieces fit
Forge is organized into modules that share the same underlying records.
| Module | What it covers |
|---|---|
| People | The community directory of individuals and households |
| Finance & Giving | Contributions, funds, pledges, and giving statements |
| Requests & Care | Prayer, pastoral care, facility, and reimbursement requests |
| Ministry | Services, volunteer scheduling, and attendance |
| Messaging | Email and SMS to individuals or audience segments |
| Calendar & Events | Events, registrations, and calendar sync |
| Operations | Projects, tasks, and assets |
| Reporting | Standard and custom reports across every module |
The connection between these is the person record. A gift links to the giver, a care request links to the person who needs it, and an attendance entry links to who was present. Because everything points back to people, you can see a full picture of someone in one profile.
Where you start each day
Forge opens to a dashboard with role-based widgets, including upcoming services, tasks due today, recent requests, and giving and attendance trends. You can pin, hide, and reorder widgets so your home view matches your work. Specialized dashboards, such as a finance view and a daily staff view, are also available.
