    Your dashboard

Your dashboard is the first thing you see when you sign in to Forge. It gathers the work that's waiting on you so you can start your day without hunting through every module.

    What the dashboard is for

The dashboard answers a simple question: what needs my attention right now. Instead of opening requests, then tasks, then giving, then your calendar one by one, you see the most important items from each in one place. It's meant as a starting point, not a destination. From here you move into the module where the real work happens.

    What you'll see

The dashboard is made up of widgets. Each widget shows a focused slice of activity. The ones you're likely to use most include:

    • Today's Tasks — tasks due today.
    • Recent Requests — the latest request activity, including care, facility, and admin items.
    • Upcoming Services — your next scheduled services.
    • Giving Overview — recent giving trends and totals.
    • Volunteer Coverage — upcoming shifts that still need people.
    • Engagement Alerts — people who may need follow-up.
    • Quick Actions — shortcuts to common tasks.

Each item links through to its full record, so you can act on it without losing your place.

    The Today view

For staff who want a daily workflow rather than an overview, Forge also offers a Today view. It focuses on the day in front of you — the tasks, requests, and queues you're responsible for — and is a good home base if you spend most of your time triaging incoming work.

    How it's role-aware

Your dashboard reflects your role. Forge starts you with a default layout suited to how you work, so a finance staff member and a ministry leader don't see the same first screen. You see the widgets that match what you have access to, and you won't see data your role can't reach.

Alongside the default home view, Forge also offers focused dashboards for specific areas, such as a finance overview and an engagement view, when your role gives you access to them.

    Make it yours

You can adjust the layout so the most useful widgets sit on top.

    1. Open your dashboard (the Home view).
    2. Click Customize.
    3. Drag widgets to reorder them.
    4. Use the pin icon to show or hide a widget.
    5. Click Save Layout.

    Tips

    • Start each day on the dashboard, clear what's urgent, then move into a single module to focus.
    • If a widget isn't useful to you, hide it rather than scrolling past it.
    • A widget you wish you had may belong to another role. If something seems missing, check with an admin about your access.

    Common questions

Why does my dashboard look different from a coworker's? Dashboards are role-aware. Your layout and the data you see are based on the role or roles assigned to you.

Can I change which widgets appear? Yes. Use Customize to pin, hide, and reorder widgets, then save your layout.
